Seoul, June 30 (World Korean News)= Wouldn't it be better to have a big brother in your family? Or would it be better for a family to work hard together because the family is harmonious without a big brother? I came up with this question when I went to Vietnam.

In Vietnam, we visited Baidin Temple, a temple near Hanoi, and enjoyed boating in Trang An, a scenic spot. And I went sightseeing in Harong Bay by boat.

The scenery in Trang An was beautiful. It was March 8th, World Women's Day, that I visited here. Trang An was a place where the wonders of nature created by limestone unfolded. It was a journey to see the scenery as it passed through nine long and short caves by boat. Our group went sightseeing in a small boat with four people. The ceiling of the limestone cave was low, so we had to ride on a small rowing boat.

The rowers were almost women. It broke my heart to see Vietnamese women rowing the boat on World Women's Day. At the same time, I wondered if Vietnam's history was really the best way.

Vietnam succeeded in reunifying after a long civil war, and now it has begun to industrialize. On the other hand, Korea is at the forefront of the world in industrialization, but the Korean Peninsula is divided between the two Koreas. Which of the two countries' history is more desirable? This question was raised.

Vietnam and Korea are too similar in that modern and contemporary history is curved. It is similar that the two countries have been colonized for a long time. It is also similar that the land was divided into two Koreas and fought a war with each other.

In terms of colonial and war experience, Vietnam was worse than Korea. Vietnam became a French colony in 1884 and was ruled by Japan during World War II. After the end of 1945, Vietnam fought a long war again against France, which claimed sovereignty. Vietnam was then divided into two, and after 20 years of war, it was unified by the Northern government in 1975. During the Vietnam Civil War, the United States helped the Southern government. South Korea also bled at the request of the U.S.

"It's a difficult question to answer easily." One person on the boat responded. It was an answer to my question asking which road would be better, Vietnam's path or Korea's path.

But I suggested the answer, "Korea is better." Industrialization involves the "accidentity" of "timing" and "opportunity." Korea was a latecomer of industrialization, but it was able to stand tall in the world by taking advantage of the opportunity of the 'digital revolution'. It is truly miraculous that Korea has made progress, starting with light industry, leading to steel, shipbuilding and automobile plants. Will Vietnam have this kind of opportunity in the future?

When I came back to Korea from Vietnam, my mind was shaken again. Wouldn't it be scarier to fight between brothers? Wouldn't we be facing a civil war not only in the two Koreas but also in the South? It's because I thought like this.
